Flashing M2WE with a System Image Using a TF Card
Important Warning
- The FLY-FAST system does not support migrating to M2WE through this method.
- This operation will flash a brand new system image to the M2WE, not perform a system migration, and will erase all data on the device.
Preparation
Before starting, please ensure you have the following items ready:
- M2WE: The product that needs the image burned.
- TF card: Capacity no less than 16GB; a high-speed card is recommended; the host computer must first boot from the TF card before performing the burning operation.
- FLY host computer: A host computer that can install the M2WE.
- System image: The pre-downloaded dedicated system image file for the M2WE.
- Network cable (recommended): Used to connect the host computer to the router to ensure a stable network connection.
- SSH tool:
MobaXterm, used to connect to the host computer and execute commands.
Operation Steps
Step 1: Download the System Image
- Visit the FLYOS official download page:
- Click the
Download Filebutton on the page.

- In the pop-up
Select Download Fileinterface:- In the
Chip Typedrop-down menu, select the system version corresponding to the host computer.

- According to your usage habits, choose to download the image file in
7Z(compressed package) orEXE(Windows installer) format. - After downloading, please extract it to obtain the final
.imgformat image file.
Step 2: Connect via SSH and Upload the Image
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect the host computer to the router.
- Open
MobaXtermor another SSH tool, and connect to your host computer via the network. - Directly drag and drop the system image file prepared in Step 1 (e.g.,
FlyOS-Fast-H618-v1.3.2.img) to the/data/directory in the MobaXterm file browser area, and wait for the file upload to complete.

Step 3: Identify the TF Card Device
You Must First Confirm the Boot Device
Before flashing, please confirm that the host computer is currently booting from the TF card: at this time, the device corresponding to the TF card is /dev/mmcblk0, and the device corresponding to M2WE is /dev/mmcblk1. If the host computer system is installed on M2WE and boots from it, the device names will be reversed, and directly operating with the default values below will write the image to the TF card.
- Execute the following command in the SSH terminal to view all storage devices:
lsblk

- Find the device name corresponding to
M2WEbased on the capacity (usually 14G-16G), the default is/dev/mmcblk1. Please be sure to confirm that the device name is correct, otherwise it may cause data loss.
Step 4: Execute Flashing
- Execute the following command to start flashing (please be sure to replace the image file name and device name in the command with the names you actually use):
Example:dd if=/data/your-system-image-file-name.img of=/dev/your-TF-card-device-name bs=4M status=progressdd if=/data/FlyOS-Fast-H618-v1.3.2.img of=/dev/mmcblk1 bs=4M status=progress
Loading...
- Patiently wait for the flashing to complete until the terminal prompts that flashing has ended and returns to the command prompt. Progress information will be displayed during the process.

Step 5: Complete the Setup
- After flashing is complete, execute the shutdown command to safely turn off the host computer:
poweroff
- Remove the TF card from the host computer.
- Power on again to boot the brand-new system.
