🚀 Quick Start

🎯 Goal of this guide: Complete the system deployment and firmware flashing for the Fly-C8P mainboard within 30 minutes, bringing it to a state where it can connect to Klipper and perform basic tests.
✅ Completion indicator: Access the Klipper interface via a web browser and successfully connect to the Fly-C8P mainboard.

📍 Important Notes
  • 📦 Essential Accessories: Fly-C8P must be used with Fly-M2WE or a TF card, otherwise the system will not boot.
  • ⚡ Power Requirements: Input voltage range 12V-24V. Do not exceed this range.
  • 🔌 Safe Operation: Always disconnect power before any wiring operations! Follow the guide's instructions when flashing firmware.
  • 🔧 Tool Preparation: Prepare basic tools like screwdrivers and data cables in advance.

4. Display Device Configuration

Screen Configuration

📝 Step Description
  • Ensure the TF card or M2WE is correctly formatted before flashing the image.
  • The first system boot may take 3-5 minutes; please be patient.
  • Default SSH credentials: username: root, password: mellow.
  • Screen configuration is only needed if you have a screen device.

🔌 Step 3: Flash Firmware and Device Identification

Why is this step needed? The previous step installed the operating system for the host computer (computing module). This step is to flash the Klipper firmware onto the lower computer (the Fly-C8P control mainboard itself). Both need to be paired to work.

📝 Step Description
  • Ensure the mainboard's DIP switch is set to the correct position before flashing firmware; otherwise, the device may not be recognized.
  • The Device ID is essential information for Klipper configuration; make sure to obtain it correctly.
  • If flashing fails, try flashing the BL firmware first, then flash the main firmware. BL Firmware Flashing

📝 Step Description
  • Strongly Recommended: Ensure power is completely disconnected before any wiring operations.
  • Verify power polarity is correct; reversing it may damage the mainboard.
  • Refer to your printer frame diagram for motor wiring sequence.
  • Check thermocouple connections before heating the heated bed and hotend.

📈 Step 5: Extended Functions and Advanced Configuration (Optional)

The following functions can be configured step by step as needed after completing the basic setup and ensuring the printer operates normally:

  • It is recommended to configure and test extended functions one by one to avoid changing too many parameters simultaneously.
  • Camera configuration requires an additional USB camera device.
  • Resonance compensation requires an accelerometer sensor.
  • Toolboard connection is suitable for multi-toolhead 3D printers.
