How to Determine Which Firmware You Need
Caution
- Note: Since the Gemini V3 is a mainboard integrating both the host and slave controllers, as long as you are not using a CAN toolboard, be sure to select the
USB Firmware!!! - When using a CAN toolboard, be sure to select the
CAN Bridge Firmware. - The Gemini V3 has an onboard CAN transceiver chip, so no external CAN module is required to use USB-to-CAN bridging.

USB Firmware
- Advantages: The most commonly used connection method in 3D printers, with reliable and stable communication.
- Disadvantages: Multiple USB devices may affect data transmission.

USB Bridge Firmware
- Advantages: Allows multiple devices to be connected simultaneously without occupying the USB port. Only use this firmware when using a CAN toolboard.
- Disadvantages: The first-time compilation and flashing process will be more troublesome.
DIP Switch Introduction
- The Gemini V3 uses DIP switches to select the connection method between the slave controller and the onboard host controller or the external Type-C port. Incorrect DIP switch positions will prevent the host controller from connecting to the slave controller. Please pay close attention!!!
Note
Please ensure the DIP switches are set to the specified positions for proper connection to the host controller.
Connecting to the Onboard Host Controller
- Turn DIP switches
1and2ON to connect the slave controller to the onboard host controller via the built-in USB. - Turn DIP switches
3and4OFF; otherwise, the connection between the slave and host controllers will be affected.Loading... - After setting the DIP switches according to this method, the bottom Type-C port will be occupied by the slave controller. Do not connect other devices to it.
Connecting to an External Host Controller
- Turn DIP switches
3and4ON to connect the slave controller's USB to the onboard Type-C port. - Turn DIP switches

5P DIP Switch Explanation
Tip
- The 5P DIP switch is used for RRF's SBC mode.
- No changes to the 5P DIP switch are required when using Klipper.
